Who? What Teresia von Storm?
"I thought this was supposed to be just a recording project."
Teresia von Storm is a progressive rock band from Jyväskylä, Finland. During one of our marathon practises (no, we don't run, we just play for 6 - 7 hours – with coffee and/or tea breaks with cakes or biscuits or what have you) we ended up calling our music corduroy-prog, since it suites better with corduroy and T-shirts than gold ropes and satin pants.
Teresia von Storm was originally formed for a recording project. Our first record The Very Saddening Adventures of a Pitiful Animal was finished in march 2019 and finally released in December 2019.
After
finishing the recording in 2019 we thought it might be fun to play these songs
as a band. And since we ended up playing the songs so well and it was such fun
- why not play live? Great idea!
Some of you might remember that the year 2020 wasn't such a good year for
performing artists. So, we practised some more. And some new songs were found
at the bottom of the song barrel. In August 2021 Teresia von Storm nearly performed live, but
– alas – the situation got worse and made performing to live audience too
risky. But we did do a great livestream Teresia von Storm Shoe Gazing
Extravaganza which is still available on YouTube.
Good things come to those who wait (well, at least sometimes). Finally, in December 2022 Teresia von Storm performed to a real live audience in Ylä-Ruth in Jyväskylä. We played for two hours. We had such fun, and the audience was happy.
Since we worked on some new songs after The Very Saddening Adventures etc., and there was nothing better to do, we ended up recording them and so our EP Scrap was born.
And we're not finished yet! No no. Teresia von Storm has only just started. We have only gone though the old stock of songs. Now we are working on some new material whenever we have the time. We can hardly wait to see (or mainly hear) what will become of our new songs.
